Trio performance with Sigmund Groven and Ivar Anton Waagard
Jan 10, 2015 - Bærum Waldorf School
During an anniversary party for his literature and drama teacher/instructor, Aksel first sang "Bist du bei mir" (Bach/Stölzel), "I know that my redeemer liveth" (GF Händel) and "Jupiter has seven moons" (L Bernstein), accompanied by assoc. prof. Ivar Anton Waagard on the piano. The two of them were then joined by Sigmund Groven on harmonica, for the beautiful song "Snø og granskog" (Snow and pineforest). All three musicians are friends of the protagonist of the party.
Sigmund Groven is also the composer of the song, with lyrics from a poem by Tarjei Vesaas. The original recording is featured on Groven's album from 1998, "Til Telemark". According to Sigmund, this was the first time ever for the song to be performed by a boy soprano.
