Concert and festival solo appearances in September
Aksel will be busy in September! First, on Sept. 3 he will be a soloist at the award ceremony in the aula of Oslo University for Norway's largest cultural award, the Anders Jahre's culture prize. The Children's Chorus of the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet will perform, and Aksel has been asked to sing "Voi che sapete", by W.A. Mozart. Some info on the free concert (6 PM) can be found here.
For the Kristiansund Church, Art and Culture Festival, Aksel has been booked as the boy soprano soloist in Leonard Bernstein's popular work "Chichester Psalms". This will be the first time Aksel sings in hebrew :) This composition for orchestra, choir and boy soprano will be performed in Molde Cathedral on Sept. 12 (5 PM) and then again in Kirkelandet Church (Kristiansund) at 4:30 PM the day after. Tickets available on billettservice.no
A week later, Aksel goes to Røros to be a soloist at the opening concert of the organ festival. On Sep. 21 (7 PM) he will first sing two pieces with organist Stephen Hicks: Haydn's Benedictus from "Kleine Orgelmesse" and Mozart's Alleluia from "Exsultate, jubilate". After that, Aksel will sing the solo parts in Mendelssohn's "Hear my prayer" (including "O, for the wings of a dove"), with Røros chamber choir.
